N2 - Based on an ethnographic study conducted between 2011 and 2020 in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador, involving blind people associated with the Society for the Blind of Azuay (SONVA), I analyze their perceptions and experiences of time through their daily routines and rhythms. My main argument suggests that, while these rhythms and temporalities are inscribed in a global hegemonic logic, the conjunction of contextual conditions and the experience of blindness itself reveals nuances in the way time is perceived and experienced. This, in turn, challenges some of the dominant narratives that simplify and homogenize time. This article seeks to expand the debate on the anthropology of time through particular experiences and, at the same time, to broaden the study of disabilities to include underexplored subjective experiences such as that of temporality.
