Resumen

This paper reflects on Capitalism as a global society which undergoes a crisis that has engendered severe effects on educa-tional programs during the existing Covid19 pandemic context. The situation of Ecuadorian universities is not detached from this complex scenario. The present research focused on neoliberal impositions, which entail clearly hegemonic conceptions regarding online education. Accordingly, the aim of the research was to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of online education -when implemented as a generalized study program- which were recognized by students of Pedagogy of Expe-rimental Sciences Career at the University of Cuenca. The research methodology was based on participant processes, and included dialogue strategies, applied by focus groups procedures, in connection with theoretical approaches on the topic. Regarding its results and conclusions, the paper summarizes the evaluation students made on the impacts caused by the emerging execution of the online education system.
