N2 - In the last years, the community water systems in Ecuador, have been addressed according to
the concept of the Integral Water Resources Management model. This paradigm has rarely
included multi-scalar approaches that expand the study towards gender inequalities. Therefore,
this proposal posits to deconstruct the Integral Water Resources Management paradigm and
establish critical thinking about the community water systems. The methodology that has been
used in this study is called content analyzes, which study the current debates of feminist political
ecology and descoloniality. The research question that guides this investigation focus on How
does the interdisciplinary dialogue between the feminist political ecology and descoloniality
approaches contributes to unveiling hegemonic practices and gender inequalities in community
water systems at Ecuador? This research considers that expanding feminist political ecology
and descoloniality scales towards intimate and daily women's spaces, reveals sufferings and
colonial practices that even appear hidden in systems labeled as community.
