Resumen

There is a heritage in the Andean countries, which historically has remained undervalued, diminished, minimized. In Ecuador, this heritage is threatened by: migration, the idea of a modernity embodied in new construction systems, progress or social prestige, lack of maintenance, poverty. The plans usually applied by the State institutions, which facilitate - and require - the application of certain technologies and materials, to the detriment of the wisdoms and capacities of the place, with assistance and often political visions, with historical and cultural myopia which It contributes to the configuration of societies that lose the perspective of the collective to privilege the solution of their problems or individual aspirations, often competing, competing with the neighbor. Under these considerations, the problem addressed in experiences 3 = 5: “Pilot Plan for Preventive Conservation applied to Susudel homes (2011-2012), and Intervention in Susudel Cemetery (2013)”, is not only an issue of technologies, of heritage, but of society, of valuation of human coexistence practices that still exist in the country, but which, together with heritage, tend to languish and become extinct. Can heritage become an element of strengthening and social cohesion? Can ancestral practices of collective work become allies for the conservation of built cultural heritage? Can an executive, planning vision be integrated into this process, which enhances existing capacities and resources based on the achievement of tangible, pragmatic objectives that allow the projecting of rural heritage and its conservation in the perspective of new and encouraging conservation processes ? The two experiences presented in this article, give a clear answer to the questions opened above and clearly show the consolidation of a collective work process between several actors, organized and participatory with surprising results.
