Resumen

This article is a result of an investigative project of great undertaking, which has studied the archaeological reserves of the Franciscan convent of the city of Azogues, Ecuador. This institution possesses great diversity of archaeological artifacts considered Ecuadorian heritage objects. However, nowadays, the state and condition that the objects are in make them prone to deterioration. Furthermore, the lack of awareness towards these artifacts are indicative of the importance of the heritage in the region, which promotes loss of traditional practices as well as identification and relevance towards its own history. Considering these problems, an interdisciplinary work was articulated, which allowed a spread in knowledge towards archaeological heritage from three different scopes; educational, political, and a general awareness, under the premise of appropriation and identification towards these artifacts
