LO VERNÁCULO EN LA CONTEMPORANEIDAD: UNA EXPERIENCIA DE SU APLICACIÓN EN ECUADOR

Vernacular (heritage) architecture works in the world are a clear expression of an attitude intelligent human being to respond, with the resources available in your immediate environmentoffered by nature, to their needs to constitute a habitat in which that intimate relationship Built secularly between environment and culture, it manifests itself fully. With globalization, these long processes, sedimented and consolidated over time, are vulnerable and with High risk of getting lost definitely. The challenge that is currently facing is to find in the currently the best way to insert the full validity of these contributions from the past in the contemporary world. This article makes explicit an experience developed in Ecuador, in the that interact visions usually considered as opposed (field-city) on the basis of a slow but reasoned and effective process of interiorization, of an architectural world, which for centuries it has remained constant in the rural context, in the same context in which this experience of Contemporary architecture manifests itself. Experience also shows that it is possible conceive spaces with a strong vernacular character without giving up expressions of culturecontemporary, sustainable architecture that does not give up incorporating all conceptual wealth and technology characteristic of today's world, articulating the architectural work in a respectful way, relevant, appropriate not only to the place, possessor of a special scenic beauty, but also to the forms and expressions of local culture. The article tries to show the links, the decisions of project, the human attitudes that made this experience possible, and the complex challenge of become an element that tries to contribute with frank historical-critical attitude, to strengthen the local character of a natural and cultural landscape constituted throughout centuries.
