Resumen
Human capital is a strategic factor for achieving the companies’ objectives ofcompetitiveness and differentiation in the hospitality industry. This is due to people are theones who directly provide the service to consumers in order to meet their needs. In thissense, customer satisfaction is achieved through the satisfaction of employees, for whichorganizations must focus their efforts on promoting a favorable work environment thatcontributes to the satisfaction of workers. Because of this, more research efforts areneeded in order to examine aspects of job satisfaction of human capital working incompanies in the hospitality industry. Therefore, this paper aims to present an analysis ofthe effects of job satisfaction on the performance of accommodation establishments and inthe satisfaction of the tourists. This analysis is carried out based on a literature review onthis subject and will be developed in the context of the ecuadorian hospitality industry. Theresults show that achieving job satisfaction for employees implies improving workingconditions, which is reflected in the worker's performance and consequently in the overallperformance of the company.
