Resumen

The general objective of the research was to analyze the inheritance of the adopted child in Ecuador: Conflicts between full adoption and civil regulations. The research was based on a qualitative documentary-bibliographic approach. An exhaustive review oflaws and referredarticles was carried out. In addition, the inductive-deductive method was applied, which suggests that tofind the truth, one must look for the facts and not rely on mere speculation. Likewise, the content technique was applied to a diverse and representative study population, allowing valuable conclusions and perspectives to be drawn that enrich the academic discourse on this subject. It is concluded that, although the Childhood and Adolescence Code establishes a full adoption that equates the adoptee with the biological child, the Civil Code, in its regulation of collateral successions, has not been fully updated to reflect this principle.
