N2 - This article intends to enlighten the reader on a little-known subject in our environment, Graphology, which is why it will start by indicating some general references to this science, subsequently, it will make a historical analysis, where its evolution is evidenced, its basic principles will be mentioned and finally, its applications will be indicated, focusing mainly on the documentological analysis.
Graphology is a little-known scientific branch, which has been privately promoted since its beginnings and is frequently confused with calligraphy.
The development of criminalistics, an auxiliary branch of Criminal Law, has demanded day by day the deepening of certain disciplines that have greatly contributed to the crime investigation process. It is precisely in this area that the need to establish unequivocally how certain facts and acts occurred, the authorship of the same, the objective they pursued, and the means through which they were materialized appears.
All process requires the concurrence of several scientific disciplines, knowing that graphology and within this, documentology are auxiliary sciences of unavoidable application. Many times a sentence is substantially based on the content of an expert's report.
Today many lawyers have dedicated themselves to documentology as a branch of specialization of the profession, to better assist the administration of justice in this country.
