Resumen
The objective of this study is to analyze the profile, skills, needs and functions of three direct interest groups of dual training: students, teaching tutors and business tutors of the Business Administration career dual modality offered by the University of Cuenca, Ecuador. The Kruskal-Wallis test was applied to determine if there are significant differences in the perception of the degree of development of competencies between the interest groups under study and a descriptive and bivariate analysis was applied to identify needs and functions. The findings show differences in the competencies developed by the actors. Furthermore, the main need perceived by the students is for the business tutors to know the dual modality and how they should guide them in their training process, for the tutor teacher to integrate and relate the theory with the challenges faced by organizations, and for the business tutor to know the content of the core subject and the assignment of tasks during the business phase. The study suggests enhancing soft skills in students so that they function effectively in the business environment, teacher tutors must adequately integrate theoretical concepts with real situations in the work environment, business tutors must be trained in dual training and Of course, the Higher Education Institution (IES) must establish close relationships between the actors of the educational institution and the company.
