N2 - This article presents a brief review of what has been
education in Ecuador, and specifically in the health area, beginning with different
tendencies of medical education and its advance in different parts of the world, starting
with the scientific approach, through the problem-based approach and ending with systemic
approach and how new technologies have been introduced in health education. Then, some
basics presented in the use of new technologies in health education worldwide and what is
the experience with Clinical Simulation in the University of Cuenca. Finally, it is
concluded that clinical simulation is a very useful method in the Health Sciences as a tool
for educational purposes that accelerates the teaching-learning process of students who
express personal satisfaction with this experience, they value the integration of theory
with practice nd they prioritize the action in an organized way.
