N2 - Unilateral maxillary hypoplasia because of trauma during growth can cause structural alterations in a patient's function, development, and esthetics. This study examined the importance of interdisciplinary activity and timely management of this condition by the Departments of Orthodontics and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. A 13-year-old male patient presented with depression of the left middle third of the face and an anterior and posterior open bite on the left side with dental malposition. Bone grafting, periodontally accelerated osteogenic orthodontics, and mini-implants were used before orthognathic surgery to preserve bone tissue and promote orthodontic movements. Adequate dental, bone, and esthetic results were obtained. Trauma of the maxilla during childhood can cause skeletal, dental, functional, and psychological alterations, and interdisciplinary management plays an important role in achieving favorable results in patients.
