Resumen
Ercole Lelli was a versatile artist who lived in the 18th Century Bologna and is mostly known for his outstanding work in the field of anatomical waxworks. This article
recovers his person by highlighting certain events in his career; for example, the realization of the anatomical sculptures in wood (which, by way of columns, are supporting the Professor's Chair in the Archiginnasio of Bologna), the execution of the principle wax models for the Anatomical Museum of the Istituto delle Scienze of Bologna, and the elaboration of a singular artistic anatomy treatise, entitled Compendio
anatomico per uso delle Arti del Disegno.
