Resumen

Gender violence is considered as any violent action based on the inequality of domination relations of men over women. First, the psychometric benefits of the instrument used from the Structural Equation Model (SEM) were evidenced to establish a multivariate statistical analysis of personality traits and predictive factors with the purpose of identifying the personality characteristics linked to predictive factors of violence against women. The sample consisted of 137 women who were victims of violence by their partners and treated at the women's police stations in metropolitan Lima. The design was ex post - facto and the data analysis was carried out from the SEM, fulfilling the assumptions of multivariate normality. The findings show a direct effect of greater implication on personality traits, which are evidenced linked to factors predictors that favor gender violence, such as the history of violence, the level of education and the place of origin.
