Resumen

The aim of this study was to compare the microleakage of total-etch adhesive Adper Single Bond (3M ESPE) and self-etch adhesives Gc G- Bond (Gc Corp) by dye penetration. Thirty premolar and third molar teeth were selected for this in vitro study and class V cavities were prepared on the lingual and buccal surface. Adhesive Adper Single Bond (3M ESPE) in buccal cavity and Gc G- Bond (Gc Corp) in lingual cavity was applied and all of them were restored with a light cure resin composite, Valux Plus A3 (3M ESPE). The samples were exposed to dye penetration with methylene blue 2% for 24 hours and then microleakage was evaluated under optic microscope. To analyze microleakeage was used a qualitative method with a 0 to 3 scale. Data were analyzed by unpaired t-test. There was significant difference in dye penetration (P = 0.033) between the two adhesive systems; with lower values presented by self-etch adhesives. Within the limiting factors of this in vitro study, it was concluded that the use of this adhesive system might increase marginal seal against fifth generation systems
