Descripción
The project, "A Method for Developing Risk Identification Kits for Women in Situations of Violence," is a lifeline for women facing the realities of gender-based violence (GBV) in Ecuador. In a country where femicide claims a woman’s life every 27 hours, this initiative aims to create innovative Safety Kits using advanced technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), and Human-Computer Interactions (HCI). These kits will monitor emotional, physiological, and environmental signals to alert women and authorities to danger, empowering them to act before violence escalates. Through collaboration between KU Leuven, Universidad de Cuenca, and other dedicated partners, the project ensures a transdisciplinary approach. It embraces inclusivity, compassion, and innovation, directly addressing the needs of vulnerable women. It not only addresses SDGs 5 (Gender Equality) and 16 (Peace and Justice) but also inspires hope by fostering safer communities. By combining inventive technology, education, and human dignity, this project is a powerful step toward a future where every woman can live free from fear.
