Abstract

Introduction: Cranial Brain Trauma is an injury to the structures of the brain, which entails functional alterations such as hemiplegia.Modified constraint-induced movement therapy emerges as a neurorehabilitation alternative to improve arm control plaggic.Case presentation: this is a 28-year-old male patient, a university student, with a history of ECT at the age of 23, who consulted for left shoulder pain. The physical examination revealed increased muscle tone and lack of mobility of 2 according to Ashworth, very severe motor function of the plaggic arm on the Fulg-Meyer scale. For all the above, movement therapy induced by modified restriction is suggested. Results: clinically relevant results were obtained, as well as differences in tone modulation, highlighting positive changes in the quality of voluntary movement and use of the plaggic upper limb after the 3-month intervention. Conclusion: movement therapy induced by modified restriction in combination with the shaping method is a therapeutic resource that manages to promote short-term changes in the functionality of the plegic upper limb of patients with traumatic brain injury.
