Abstract
Social capital in tourism is a key factor for sustainable territorial development. This, in turn, is related to other factors, such as environmental, economic and social factors. There are several methodologies for its measurement, such as Stakeholder Theory and the examination of interactions and relationships, known as Social Network Analysis (SNA), which are analysed in this chapter through their application in Ecuadorian cities as research context. Through these methodologies It has been possible to determine that there are different types of actors with attributes of power, legitimacy and urgency, the formation of networks or groups of actors that can also lead to greater or lesser participation and collaboration in a tourism destination.
