Abstract
Latin America is considered to be one of the regions of the world with the highest level of inequality. Coping with this inequality is a main challenge to improve further development of the region. Despite several efforts that have been undertaken, children and adolescents still belong to the most vulnerable groups and continue to have fewer opportunities compared to their peers in other regions worldwide (UNESCO, 2013). In this respect, however, Latin America has already undertaken real efforts and was able to establish rapid changes in the field of education, but also more specifically in the field of sex education.
