Abstract

The following research presents a multicriteria methodology for the selection of renewable energies in urban environments of the city of Cuenca. Particularly, it focuses on those technologies that use city resources that can be used to produce electricity. Multicriteria decision-making techniques are used as a support tool. We use the Hierarchical Analytical Process with the application of fuzzy logic. This method is widely used within the selection process, and mostly in energy planning. The purpose of fuzzy logic is to decrease the inaccuracy of the AHP method, thus resolving the vagueness of the judgments delivered by the decision makers.
