Abstract
The perception of happiness favorably affects the academic and personal performance.
This research had as objective to describe the perception of happiness that are students of the Faculty of psychology of the University of Cuenca. Approach is qualitative,
phenomenological, cross-sectional design kinds of exploratory scope and sampling non-
probability for convenience. The participants were of three careers in psychology; they
worked with a sample of 12 students from seventh to tenth cycle. Applied a semi-structured interview. Among the results are the students attach importance to personal safety and State of equilibrium from the internal fullness to achieve happiness, relate it to the welfare. The family relationship was seen as support and acceptance; interpersonal relationships as a space
