Abstract

The artisan workshops represent one of the key scenarios to understand the dynamics as these spaces have been socially and culturally structured in the city of Cuenca. That is why from a gender perspective that crosses the analysis, these are characterized by taking into account the narrative trajectories of artisanal lives in diverse trades and contexts within the same social imaginary. Thus, using data that largely emerges from a qualitative methodology, through ethnographic tools, it has been possible to describe both the origin, the motivations and the nature involved in these professions, while also accessing a method approach probabilistic, as well as a documentary review. As a result, the results show the segmentation and permanence of the workshops from a gender, historical, family, generational and professional perspective.
