Abstract
This study examines the metrics of scientific production on
tourism in Ecuador, utilizing Scopus, Dimensions, and Scielo databases. The PRISMA method is
employed to conduct a systematic literature review (SLR). Key findings encompass clusters of
recurrent keywords, the evolution of tourism research over time, and both international and
local collaboration networks. The interdisciplinarity of these networks is underscored by
the study. Despite the richness of international cooperation, local collaboration remains
limited. The study further reflects on the significance of tourism research for its
progression and highlights the necessity to include the Spanish language in disseminating
results.
