Abstract
COVID-19 isolation is experienced differently in the countryside than in the city, and
consequently, physical fitness is altered in different ways. Therefore, the aim of this study is to
determine the incidence of confinement on the physical condition of rural children. By applying a
non-experimental design with a longitudinal cut and correlational scope, conditional physical
capacities are evaluated through pedagogical tests. At the same time, surveys are used to investigate
the activities carried out during this time with 144 children (age 10.7 ±0.8), inhabitants of the Santa
Ana parish. After three months there were no negative changes; on the contrary, there was an
evolution in the results, due to the fact that the subjects were mainly immersed in agricultural
activities and outdoor games. In conclusion, confinement has had a positive impact on the physical
condition of rural children.
