Feel, think, do. creative concepts in luis longhi's projects

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

Abstract

Luis Longhi, an architect with a long career and recognition in Peru, has developed over the years a series of creative concepts close to the phenomenology of architecture that are examined in this article. His original theoretical concepts introduce proposals derived from academic, professional and life experience. The present study analyses these notions by putting them in relation to his main architectural projects and installations, which have made him a reference point for contemporary Peruvian design, with a marked ascendancy in the international sphere. Longhi's ideas deserve particular study. We examine the value he places on art and intuition, on dialogue within academic training, on Peruvian ancestral culture and on nature. In the conclusion, we see that his creative conceptions are supported by a strong link between feeling (the artistic), thinking (the academic) and doing (professional practice).
