Abstract

This research and development project presents the optimization of BESS energy storage systems (Battery Energy Storage System) in photovoltaic systems connected to the electricity grid, using mixed integer linear programming algorithms. In the development of this work, the creation of a database of both load and generation profiles was first performed, the data obtained served to propose the mathematical optimization model together with their respective restrictions. The optimization model was solved through mixed linear programming algorithms and finally the optimization algorithm developed was tested for the electrical system of Santa Cruz Island, Galápagos province, where the integration of the electric grid with renewable energies is carried out as the PV generation.
