Visions of teachers and fathers/mothers and training processes on integral sex education for 6-12 years

The provision of sex education for children and adolescence in the education system is a little studied phenomenon and even less in our context. However, the importance of addressing contextualized sexual education from an early age with a sight of a healthy exercise of sexuality in the different stages of development is recognized. The present study seeks to contribute with relevant and updated information on this subject through studying the visions of teachers and fathers of family on integral sexual education for children and adolescents from 6 to 12 years through an investigation with a mixed qualitative-quantitative sequential approach, in a first phase of the project. With these inputs, in a second phase of the project, a training proposal will be prepared in the subject that will be implemented with teacher training students, through a methodology of trainer of trainers and, subsequently, teachers who work with children and adolescents between 6 and 12 years in urban public educational institutions of the Cuenca canton will be trained. Having the participation of parents, mothers and teachers will allow us to understand the different positions regarding this subject and look at ways to unify criteria that allow designing a relevant training proposal for trainers and teachers in service. In this way you can have solvent bases to propose effective sexual education guidelines for children and thus contribute to the exercise of their rights.
