Description
The current economic and social situation that Ecuador is going through has motivated an investigation that allows to know, study and analyze the viability of the monetary system of dollarization impeded in Ecuador in January 2000 from the analysis and statistical study of its main components of income and expenses of currencies: exports, infer Imports, the payment of external debt and its services, allowing us at the same time to create a statistical information base, which contributes to discern specific and specialized research lines based on generating specific scientific analysis of the country's economic behavior in the coming years. The hard currency system has implicated, has weakened the commercial position of Ecuador generating constants and increasingly deep deficit of the commercial balance; On the one hand, our exports have lost competitiveness with respect to those countries that compete in traditional products and markets, as well as the relative increase in internal production has led us to the imports of importation of mass consumption products of lower price and to build the hypothetical scenarios of the Ecuadorian economy from the statistical history of the last decade, with special interest in the last four years that are those of dollarization, in order to determine the possible Trajectories of that model in the country.
