Validation of a participation methodology from the formulation of the actors map in the Pauta River Basin

This project is aimed at validating a methodological proposal on participation focused on the mapping phase of actors, in the Pauta River basin. Participation in itself must account for the complexity and interrelationships of the multiplicity of dimensions of the social acting, however in contexts of social asymmetry it is a much more difficult process. We intend to underpin a methodology that allows to overcome these asymmetries, promote important social values and develop a participatory democracy. The integral management of the PAute basin is a process of involving actors and the generation of consensus that strengthen technical initiatives. Currently, the University of Cuenca is developing a project related to the management of sediments and the strengthening of socio-organizational initiatives in the basin. It is our interest that the present proposal strengthens this research project.
