Comprehensive Health Unit in the Life Cycle

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

The new organization of the academic structure of the Ecuadorian University leads teachers and researchers to work in groups around the epidemiological profile of population-disease of the population to establish projects with social relevance that achieve an impact on the quality of life of children and adolescents (NNA), older adults. With this perspective during the last semester, a program that aims to integrate a group of researchers with different existing and new research projects of the faculty that aim to improve the quality of life of people in the different stages of the life cycle has been developed. The Ecuadorian Constitution of 2008 recognizes the right of the population to live in a healthy and ecologically balanced environment, which guarantees sustainability and good living, (Sumak Kausay) as a systematic, participatory and integral strategy that promotes health, well -being in the social context. Art. 42. states that the State will guarantee the right to health, its promotion and protection, through the development of: food security, the promotion of healthy environments in the familiar, work and community and the possibility of permanent and interrupted access to health according to the principles. For these reasons, addressing comprehensive aspects related to health disease in people throughout their life cycle is essential (2). Acting in groups will not only allow responding to the epidemiological problems of the study population but will strengthen the competences of each of the researchers to work as a team and find the opportunities to act in a network, motivate the training of new talents in research (grade and postgraduate students) and promote scientific productivity: articles and others.
