Description

Aim. Evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of glucosamine plus chondroitín sulfate versus acetaminofen, in the treatment of patients with hand osteoarthrosis. Material and Methods: It is a controlled clinical study that is going to be carried out in patients with symptomatic hand osteoarthritis diagnosed in a previous prevalence study carried out in Cuenca and that will go to the external consultation of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital. The therapeutic response will be evaluated in patients after 6 months of treatment. At the beginning of the study, 2 groups will be established with 50 patients each, the first receives glucosamine plus chondroitin sulfate 1500 mgs, the second group is administered 1500 mgs per day. In the statistical analysis of the therapeutic response the RR is calculated, difference of percentages and chi-square. Conclusion: Study that seeks to establish the difference in the clinical response of patients with osteoarthrosis receiving glucosamine plus chondroitin sulfate versus acetaminophen.
