Transformations in the use and occupation of the land in the peri -urban of the city of Loja in the first decades of the 21st century. Policies for its territorial planning

The present investigation contributes to the generation of knowledge in the field of territorial management in the Latin American context applied to the solution of the socio-spatial problem of land use and occupation in the peri-urban area of the city of Loja, within the framework of the development of the project, the Center for Territorial Research of the National University of Loj Simultaneous elaboration of the projects taking as an area of study the city of Loja and Cuenca respectively, the contribution is a social approach made by the UNL Public Policy Administration Laboratory. In the city of Loja, the continuous extensions of the urban limit, carried out at the end of the twentieth century and the beginning of the XXI, where the reality of use and occupation of the peri -urban soil of the moment is unknown, a territorial imbalance is generated together with the absence of territorial management policies that allow improving the functionality of the underlying structures in the territory, cause a detriment of the peri -urban until today.
