Description

The project we present aims to identify the transformations of domestic space and ways of living during the twentieth and twenty-first century in Cuenca and its relationship with energy, technological, socio-economic, cultural and urban planning changes, to contribute to the conception and design of the house. For this, a periodization of the two centuries will be done, defined by the moments of change and transformation of the domestic space given by the aforementioned factors. A record of the most significant houses will be made below and archetypes that will allow to group the cases found will be found. Next, the architectural structure of the cases that best represent archetypes will be described in detail and chronologically, giving special importance to spatial management and ways of living, and relating them to their situation in the lot and in the city. The results of this project will allow us to discuss the expectations of the current house and that of the future because the design of domestic spaces that give effective and relevant response to the new ways of living marked by the environmental, technological, social, social, gender equity, network and community challenges, within a perspective of sustainability that recognizes the values of history and that puts the human being in the center of reflection is urgent. Above all, we will teach us that we can learn from history and tradition to contribute in the conception of the house that still does not exist.
