Role of the antimüllerian hormone to predict the availability of follicles in cows, which respond to superovulation and generate oocytes or competent embryos in vivo and in vitro

The investigation will be carried out in the South Central Zone of Ecuador, in mestizo holstein genotype cows, grazing, under extensive systems, located at 2,500msnm. The experiment will have three essays: the first will determine the relationship between the antimüllerian (AMH) hormone and the follicles population available in the ovary at the time of restart of the follicular wave. 80 cows will be used. The assessment of AMH and count of antral follicles (RFA) will be held on ovulation day. The second will establish whether the AMH could be a reliable endocrine marker of the donor's ability to produce a high or low embryo number in response to Sov. They will have two groups (G1 and G2) in the first one 20 cows with low AMH levels and in G2, 20 cows with high AMH values will be located, then a SOV protocol will be applied to the two groups and the response to superovulation and quantify will quantify and quality of embryos obtained will be assessed. The third essay seeks to standardize a protocol through the use of AMH to identify cows with high intrinsic capacity to produce follicles, containing competent oocytes that can be aspirated by OPU and improve the PIV. 12 cows will be used, 6 with low levels of AMH (G1) and 6 cows with high levels of AMH (G2). The quality and quantity of coc´s and embryos produced in vitro will be evaluated. The statistical analysis will be processed in the SAS program.
