Description
For academic management in general, it is always important to know clearly the average time that a student needs to complete the credits established in the curricular mesh; In addition, if there is any relationship between that elapsed time and some variables of the student's socioeconomic record. The races have to be credited periodically, and among their evaluation indicators are indexes of dropout and terminal efficiency. It is important that in technical careers and of high academic demand can improve these indexes, so it is key to identify some causes associated with repetition and dropout. This information is relevant to academic authorities, which can make decisions in several directions: support students who identify at risk of delaying their studies or abandoning them; Support teachers who have high levels of loss of their students, in pedagogical, didactic or methodological aspects. We will work with information about all the races of the University of Cuenca, in a longitudinal analysis based on the entrance cohorts, analyzing the variables described from the databases of the students' academic trajectories. In careers where the trajectories are delayed more, the relationship between the approval time of the curriculum and the socioeconomic status of the student will be studied. The findings of this research, in addition to generating information to the authorities for academic decision making, will improve indicators that affect the accreditation of their careers.
