Fishery-Tourism dock project for the July 6 enclosure

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This project aims to promote the economic, social and tourist development of the July 6 enclosure, through the design of an operational and tourist dock that generates benefits for the residents of the enclosure, who are mostly dedicated to the collection of crabs. The study approach is to project the most appropriate solutions against the need proposed by applying the best technological options available considering the environmental, social and economic aspects of the sector to serve. Consequently, the dock design will become a representative infrastructure that will provide a greater operation capacity for the inhabitants of the enclosure, new activities that will boost the local economy and better planning tools to manage its tourist activities. This study is derived from the Fostering Project to Platform for Research-Based Education to Support Sustainable Development Through Tourism in the Cajas Massif Biosphere Area (CMBA), developed by the Preit-Tour Research Group of the University of Cuenca and the University of Ku Leuven, with the sponsorship of the Vlir-Uos program.
