Usable exoskeleton prototype in the lower extremities, by using adaptive control algorithms

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

This work is a research proposal for the design and construction of a prototype of robotic exoskeleton for the lower extremities, which attends patients with movement limitations, caused by cerebrovascular diseases, spinal cord lesions or effects in the nervous system. For the use of this movement assistant, the patient must have at least residual mobility and balance control. The purpose is to return movement autonomy to the affected, through medical robotic technology. The exoskeleton control system will be developed through adaptive control algorithms that allow to adjust to different gear patterns and specific requirements of the patient, depending on the limitations it presents. The validity of the equipment will be determined through its use, in individuals without movement limitations and tests in at least one patient with mobility limitations.
