Description
Unfortunately, the health crisis has had a relevant negative impact on the economy of Ecuador. In fact, several business sectors have had to stop or close their activities during this pandemic period, which has led to the recovery of its production and sales levels is slow. At this stage of uncertainty, organizations face the challenge of generating a level of income that ensures their survival and development. Specifically, in the case of the textile sector of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), they are complicated to apply restrictions imposed by the State, such as social distancing, teleworking, among others, due to its limited resources. This complex scenario has motivated that the production processes of textile MSMEs seek how to adapt to these changes, and must become resilient and sustainable, so that they do not cause high impacts on the environment where they operate. It is important to take into account that textile MSMEs constitute a key actor for society and have an important participation in the national economy for generating about 42% of national employment sources, leading to secondary economic activities related to their value chain. It is for that reason that, designing a sustainable model for labor improvement within the country's textile MSMEs is important and necessary for organizations to achieve their economic reactivation. In that sense, industry 5.0, no longer focuses only on the application of technologies to improve productivity, but seeks to achieve social objectives, allowing it to be a prosperity provider, which respects environmental limits and puts the well -being of workers in the center of the production process. This proposal addresses themes of industrial engineering, strategic planning, resilience, sustainability and empowerment of the human being, which comprise the frame of reference required for the construction of a production model focused on the characteristics of industry 5.0, seeking to contribute to the safe reactivation of the textile productive sector of the MSMEs in the country. For this, 1) appropriate indicators are identified to evaluate the sustainability, resilience and empowerment of the human being in the local textile production model of MSMEs, 2) The development of a dynamic textile production model (PROS-5.0) is proposed to adapt local textile operations to the concept of industry 5.0, based on the realization of evaluations using the previously established indicators. Of study of the textile sector through simulation and optimization tools. The proposed model aims to incorporate elements of sustainability, resilience and empowerment of the human being, as well as generate optimizations in their value chains under the characteristics of industry 5.0.
