Description
The proposed research has among its objectives to build a history of Basin between 1920 and 1950 in terms of urban change and transformation, identity, landscapes, social and demographic changes, as well as from the transformation of urban space from the municipal, public, collective action and its neighbors. In addition, another objective is to analyze the processes of transformation of public and private spaces, and the provision of basic services, among others education. Another objective will focus on the study of the change and modernization of the city that begins in the wake of the mid -twentie Gatto Sobral, which was part of the modernizing proposal of the Mayor's Office of Cuenca and is applied from 1949, the year of its publication. Among the objectives of the research is to also analyze the processes and changes in the space of culture, from the focus of cultural history. The research and methodological approach that will be used comes from contemporary urban history, enriched by the use of important documentary sources, from local and national archives, as well as photographic documents, from the written press, maps, plans, sketches and statistical sources and if possible through interviews with neighbors of the city. Among the expected results, there will be the publication of at least three articles in indexed, national or international magazines, the delivery of a report with a book -type format, with the various chapters ranging from the historical analysis of the historical and urban processes of the city, the study of the public management processes of education and public works linked to this municipal and state service, in addition to the changes in culture and recreation, linked above all to the theater, the theaters of the time.
