Description

Determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain and rheumatic diseases, using the Copcord questionnaire, in the indigenous people of Saraguro. Ecuador.2016 Material and Methods: Transversal Analytical Epidemiological Study, with a sample of 1266 people over 18 years of age, the Copcord questionnaire will be applied to determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain, and rheumatic diseases such as osteoarthritis of knees and hands, low back pain, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, gout and lupus erythematosus systemic. The study study will be carried out: Training of participating health professionals, validation of the form, field work to detect cases of musculoskeletal pain will participate general doctors, students of the last year of medicine and rheumatologists in positive cases to confirm the diagnosis. Statistical analysis: Bivariate analysis of each of the study variables will be performed, using one and two ways for continuous and chi square variables for ordinal, nominal or categorical variables. Results: 1. Determine the prevalence of musculoskeletal pain and rheumatic diseases such as: hand and knees osteoarthritis, fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, lumbago and gout in the indigenous population of Saraguro. Establish the relationship of rheumatic diseases with age, sex, occupation and socio-economic status of the population. Compare the results found in the indigenous population of Saraguro with other investigations carried out in similar groups in America. Perceive the worldview of the population of Saraguro in relation to pain and its effects on everyday life
