Digital platform for the calculation of the discount rate and assessment of companies for MSMEs in Ecuador

This project is part of a context of economic reactivation of small and medium enterprises, and even enterprises. Try to provide these organizations with a weighted average capital cost agreed to their underlying characteristics, as well as the characteristics of the environment in which they work. Innovation in this project derives from the fact that the calculation of this weighted average capital cost (WACC) can automatically be determined only with the supply by the user of certain inputs. However, it should be noted, the necessary data and the underlying methodology for the calculation of both WACC and the valuation of the company, are based on prior investigation, as well as solid theoretical foundation. In short, what is attempted is a digital platform that facilitates the entrepreneur, entrepreneur, small or medium, the calculation of the weighted average capital cost without this user has more financial knowledge, but only with brief descriptive features of, for example, the capital structure or the business line in which he works. The above does not mean that the part of internal underlying calculations to the platform is developed based on models such as the CAPM and a solid theory that allows to base the value obtained through the platform. Thus, this platform is not constituted only as a structure in which data is entered and results are obtained, in fact, what is proposed is that prior to the development of the digital platform, different inputs have been calculated in a personalized way for each economic sector for the WACC calculation, as well as different parameters for the assessment of a company, according to the Ecuadorian environment. This project will contribute to both private and public decision makers. For a better performance of their companies in the case of private ones, and in that of public entities, for a possible better negotiation for the purposes of, for example, a concession. That is, the tool is constituted as a fundamental decision making from a financial point of view. The design of the platform, as well as the calculation of the necessary parameters will feature the advice of an expert in digital platform design, as well as an expert in the assessment of companies and calculation of the cost of average capital weighted, the latter a Chilean advisor.
