Description

Retail or retail trade is retail sale of different items and is considered one of the most important economic sectors in many countries. This trade has not been alien to the global and technological changes of recent years; Challenges such as: product management, store space, supplier improvement, advances in information technologies, and plant distribution have faced different companies. Great organizations worldwide such as Amazon, Walmart, Target among others have devised ways to deal with these challenges, however, the level of customer demand has made many solutions innovations that require advanced technology and large investments, which in the national environment are scarce. For example, the footwear industry access advanced equipment is low due to financial and management issues of many companies, in addition the logistics and management of stores in this industry are considered as areas of opportunity. Based on these facts, the project aims to investigate the challenges facing the retail sector such as: design, inventory and logistics management of stores in the Retail (retail) sector of Azuay, based on optimizing resources. To carry out this research there is a methodology with the following stages. First, a construction of the state of the art related to the main challenges of the town retail will be carried out. Second, models of: design management, inventories and logistics, based on the previous stage will be formulated. Third, the models formulated above will be applied in cases of study of the footwear industry. Finally, the management models proposed through the analysis of data and information collected throughout this project will be validated; At this stage the elaboration of an integration platform of the proposed models is proposed. The results of this project, specifically, the conceptual and methodological framework of the e-retail for the local sector, as well as its technological implementation will be presented in nationally and internationally recognized magazines. To carry out the proposed methodology, an interdisciplinary research group has been formed with teachers of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences, Engineering and Economic and Administrative Sciences, and the collaboration of advisors with extensive experience in research.
