Project Details
Description
The present project aims to analyze the incidence of international immigration reality at the University of Cuenca, to generate proposals for transversalization of the rights approach and interculturality within the university community and in public policy at the local level. The proposal also seeks from a complete and current diagnosis, to promote the construction of a space for reflection on international migrations that articulate and enhance existing academic initiatives and that strengthens inclusive, intercultural and social vision education. It also seeks to propose new actions that affect citizen opinion and the formulation of public policies of the region and the country, value processes that enhance interaction and intercultural practice. A mixed, quantitative and qualitative methodology will be used, with the use of surveys, focal groups and interviews, applied to members of the university community. The scope of the investigation is exploratory and descriptive. Sampling is stratified probabilistic. The products that are expected to be obtained from the research will be socialized within the university and to the citizens in general, and will allow, with the participation of direct actors of the migratory event, an approach to the real situation of migrants and their environment, and an awareness of the need for a public management consistent with their situation.
