Description
The Association of Laws and Law Faculties of Ecuador, for about two years has been conducting a series of research and works aimed at developing a diagnosis of the current situation of legal education in the country and making proposals for its improvement. Following these works, progress has been made in some academic, administrative, financial, etc., but no objective and scientific study in terms of teaching and evaluation methods, which are the cornerstone in the university education system. The present research is oriented precisely to elaborate a diagnosis about what happens in this sense in the laws of law and from it to make proposals that can be adopted by all schools in their academic function. The investigation will be carried out in the 17 law schools in the country and at the same time, they are members of the association; They are distributed in the cities of Quito (6), Guayaquil (4), Loja (2), Ambato (1), Manta (1) and Cuenca (3). These schools in number of 12 belong to private universities and 5 to public universities. It will work with a sample calculated by means of a statistical-mathematical procedure and will be stratified, random and systematic. As for techniques, the following will be used: Structured interview that will be applied to teachers and students; Workshops with the deans and representatives of teachers and students in which the discussion technique in small groups will be applied; Focal groups with teachers and students. With the results of the investigation, three workshops will be carried out: in Quito, Guayaquil and Cuenca for the dissemination and analysis of the proposals, so that they are incorporated into the academic function in each school or faculty. The instruments and data collection procedures will be distinguished according to face or distance teaching.
