Improvement of forest management strategies in the moors of southern Ecuador: a contribution to the conservation and sustainability of land use

Project: Research

Project Details

Description

A Pesar De La Importancia Que Tienen Los Páramos Para El Desarrollo Socio-Económico Y Ambiental De La Zona Austral, Desde Hace Varios Años Éstos Ecosistemas Están Siendo Alterados, Donde La Forestación Con Especies Exóticas Como El Pino Ha Sido Comúnmente Usada Para Diversos Objetivos Que Van Desde El Secuestro De Carbono Hasta La Conservación De Agua. However, these practices have not been evaluated and their management has been very poor. For this reason, the present proposal aims to evaluate the different forest management practices on the production of wood, plant biodiversity, carbon kidnapping and water regulation. For this, several monitoring plots will be installed in the Yanuncay area to the south of Ecuador. Al Final Del Proyecto Se Espera Poder Dar Sugerencias Sobre Cual (Es) De La Practicas De Manejo Forestal Evaluadas Son Las Mas Adecuadas Para Un Manejo Sostenible De Las Zonas De Páramo.
