Project Details
Description
The project seeks to support the development of the scientific research of the formal values of the heritage built in the province of Azuay in order to promote its preservation and dissemination as an exemplary architecture. For this purpose, the formal values present in the traditional rural housing of the twentieth century will be identified, its formal typologies will be defined and the studied will be disseminated. We believe that the recognition of formal values would allow an adequate assessment of the traditional rural architecture of the twentieth century in the province of Azuay. At present there is a lack of formal criteria in the assessment of architecture. This absence of theoretical reflection on the part of the architects and the general population demonstrates a deep ignorance of what "is right" and "is wrong" in architecture and has led to a superficial assessment of the works where criteria of personal taste, appearance of objects or age have prevailed. With the above as a history, it has become difficult to justify organisms and before the same population the need to preserve heritage in certain areas. The results of this research may generalize other areas of the Andean region, where architecture is similar, they must also nurture the contents of theoretical subjects in the faculties that deal with the issue of architecture in Latin America. In this sense, your scientific contribution. These results should be reflected in an itinerant exhibition accompanied by a presentation. The immediate beneficiaries of this research are the students, teachers and researchers in the area of architecture and the heritage updated in the rural areas of Azuay, while the mediate beneficiaries would be the architecture itself for the need for scientific knowledge on the subject, as well as the users of traditional rural homes.
