Project Details
Description
After six years of contributions from working groups in the different Ecuadorian universities around the spatial data infrastructure theme, headed by the IDE group of the University of Cuenca, and supported by the Ecuadorian consortium for the development of the Advanced Internet (CEDIA), the need has been seen in a working group in this subject. On the one hand, this group is formed by integrating the capacities of the Groups of the IDI Center and the Architecture Research Center, and on the other hand, at the level of Cedia, integrating seven universities from seven provinces. This group seeks to promote development and research in IDES at the national level. In this context, IDEs help improve the access and usability of geospatial information of studies, projects, base information, etc., which contribute greatly in the management of research that are based on this type of information. The study of new forms of lifting and representation of cartographic information in an IDE, such as information in 2.5 D and 3D provided by non -manned aerial vehicles (UAV) and Lidar equipment, is essential to provide usable, realistic, high resolution and rapid update information. Therefore, this project proposes, as the main objective, to strengthen the capacities of the research group through the acquisition of equipment and the implementation of an agile and efficient system for the survey and representation of primary geographic information 2.5D and 3D based on tip technology (UAV, Total Station, Lidar), as well as its integration the IDE UCUENCA.
