Description

This project that turned out to be the winner of the previous DIUC contest, and which had the support of the mentioned institutions, thanks to the success achieved in its first part whose result derived in the request of part of the sponsors to which this project continued (see in annexes request letters), is that we force ourselves to extend the investigation, not only to basin where the level of results was exceeded in 300% (see final report) We do, thinking about Austro, so we will have to expand research to other sectors which will give us more coverage for possible sponsors, but above all it gives us the possibility of covering a greater field of action and therefore greater number of people can enjoy what contemporary art in the region is. The project "New Artistic Practices, Research on Contemporary Art" arises from the need that the region has to build its own art history. As we all know, the lack of information of what happens in our environment, and the increase in this information on the hegemonic art of the West that potentialized by technology and the most media, have made this the only possible alternative to be studied and therefore apprehended and taught by art educators. It is then that we propose a research project on Contemporary Cuenca art, as well as a thorough analysis of this art form and its creators, for a visual critical catalog, to be able to gather the most relevant of the current Cuenca art and that after an intensive process of dissemination and launch, to ensure that this catalog (fruit of the research would be to carry out), it is a valid support document, possible to be used for both our culture. Art and thus take another step in the construction of our history. The research catalog will have images about the most relevant works that reflect the conditions of contemporary art of the region, as well as a formal critical analysis of these works and the importance they acquire within the local context, in addition to a small curriculum of the selected artists. The catalog will be the basic guide for the formation of a chair of the history of contemporary Cuenca art that will be part of the academic pensum of the Faculty of Arts of the University of Cuenca. In addition, all records, interviews, videos, photographs and curriculum product of the research will serve to start a basin art database, and will be available for any university student (possibly in the library of the Faculty of Arts).
