Project Details
Description
Basic education is the initial training space in which socialization processes are established and generated, and whose impact is projected in different areas of individual and collective life. Through the forms of knowledge transmission and their daily practices, educational establishments contribute to the formation of gender identities and consequently in gender social relations. Faced with this, the project seeks to analyze the basic education system as a socialization agent from a gender vision. In this context it is necessary to analyze how basic education develops from its theoretical-philosophical conception and its practices in its different fields of action: academic, social, cultural, political and sports. The challenge is to bring to light the manifestations of gender inequities that make sexist differences and practices that extend throughout life itself, and also those that promote gender equity. Based on the findings, it will be contributed with concrete and viable proposals for an education based on social and gender equity. For the achievements of this proposal, the ethnographic-professional method will be used within qualitative research, in the basic education schools of the fiscal area of the city of Cuenca, which are established. We will work with an interdisciplinary and gender approach. The project will be executed by the Pesged of the University of Cuenca, together with paths and the German Social-Technical Cooperation Service (DED), as Coparticipes.
