Description

The recent earthquake in Ecuador lets the Guadua cane intuit is a more stable construction material and that causes less victims in case of a collapse. This justifies to verify that hypothesis in reality, since in the laboratory there have been abundant and sufficient repeated tests on material and technology. Likewise, the bioclimatic vocation of the cane that provides ventilation and shadow is tested as required by the corresponding climatic floors, an aspect in which it has been insisted abundantly. But even so, this type of constructive technology is not used today in homes or equipment with the abundance that it could, because it is culturally associated with poverty, due in large part to the influence of modernity and its constructions of cement and concrete, which erroneously apply in all climatic floors, giving serious comfort problems and excessive energy consumption. For all this this project will verify in reality the constructions of cane and their behavior in the earthquake, and will draw their conclusions. Then he will review examples of international contemporary architecture with cane and visit Peru for his examples that allow enriching the creative and dignity possibilities of the material and finally intends to leave at least two examples of preliminary draft with guadua cane for housing and or services such as education, which demonstrate the possible dignity and aesthetics of this material
